Role Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Level 5 Arborist to join our team on a part-time basis, initially working 3 days a week with the potential for a full-time position as demand grows. This role offers a great opportunity for an experienced Arborist to showcase their expertise while gaining experience in commercial and residential tree care. Key responsibilities will include quoting for tree works, conducting assessments, and writing detailed reports.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and deliver detailed, accurate quotes for both commercial and residential clients, ensuring all works are appropriately scoped and priced.
- Conduct tree assessments and provide professional advice regarding tree health, safety, and necessary treatments.
- Write reports on tree health, including risk assessments, management plans, and recommendations for clients.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of work completed, assessments conducted, and reports written.
- Stay current with industry trends, standards, and legislation to ensure the highest level of service.
Key Requirements:
- Level 5 Arborist qualification or equivalent.
- Minimum of [3] years of experience in arboriculture, with a strong focus on both residential and commercial tree services.
- Proven experience in quoting, tree assessments, and report writing.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to build strong relationships with clients.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Full, clean driving license.
Desirable Skills:
- Experience with tree risk assessments and health monitoring.
- Knowledge of local tree regulations and legislation.
- Familiarity with using tree management software. (not essential as training provided)

We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Arborist to join our Arboricultural Services Team!
What You Will Do:
As a Senior Arborist, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the Principal Arborist with managing the delivery of arboricultural services across the Cairns region. You will help lead and mentor a team of talented arborists while ensuring the effective management and maintenance of our tree program. Your technical expertise will guide the application of our tree management policies and strategies, ensuring high standards are maintained for the community and environment.
What We Are Looking For:
- Possess a Diploma in Arboriculture (AQF Level 5) or higher (Level 5 or higher in associated disciplines may also be considered).
- Tree Risk Assessment qualifications, e.g. TRAQ, QTRA, VALID or the ability to obtain.
- Current C Class Drivers Licence and ability to independently drive between all business locations to meet operational need
- Working in Proximity to Traffic – Awareness Part 1 & Part 2 (or equivalent) or have the ability to obtain.
- QLD General Safety Induction White Card or have the ability to obtain.
- Experience in developing and coordinating tree management programs, as well as using tree management software.
- Demonstrated ability to prepare tree assessment reports including risk assessment and management recommendations.

AVM is growing! We’re looking for a new crew member to join our tight knit tree company based in Cairns. We are all about doing quality tree work, having each other’s back and being a positive place to work.
We are looking for a reliable and experienced climbing arborist who enjoys providing high-quality tree care services in a positive team environment.
Some of the Preferred Skills you may have which are highly regarded:
- Certificate III Arboriculture
- Minimum 2 years’ experience.
- Medium Rigid Licence (preferred but not essential).
- Work as part of a team with a mature outlook and good communication skills
- The ability to rig trees like a legend and to smash out some decent sized removals.
